This shoot was all about celebration. This year has seen a lot of growth for my business and I was all too excited to celebrate by highlighting a special couple. This year marks four years of love for Taylor and Matt, so we headed up to Romare Bearden Park to capture their story just in time for their anniversary.
Taylor and Matt met while working in a pizza place, she as a hostess and Matt as a cook. What started as a fun coworker friendship slowly turned into something more. When speaking of Matt, Taylor could only say how sweet and considerate he is to her always. She also highlighted that their relationship is full of laughs and joy, and that was definitely present during our time in Uptown.
One of my favorite things to tell people about this shoot was the weather that day. You would never know it, but a mere twenty minutes before the session Taylor and I were on the phone discussing the torrential downpour that was going on. But by the time we got to our destination, it was all sunshine and pretty light. Weather can be scary when it comes to pictures, but I’ve honestly learned to roll with it and almost always everything works out just fine.
The longer you’re in a relationship with someone, the more they get to know your fears, your flaws, and all the things that make you vulnerable. Love like that takes a lot of patience, courage, and perseverance. Anniversary sessions are some of my favorites because I get to see first hand how deep that love runs and how it has withstood the test of time. So here’s to you, Taylor and Matt! Cheers to year four and many more to come!
