Dori and Hunter | Main St, Rock Hill

Each love story has special ties to special places. Maybe it’s where the couple met, where they had their first date, or a place they were both drawn to. For Dori and Hunter, their places can be found all along Main St in Rock Hill, South Carolina.

I’ve had the privilege of photographing Dori and Hunter on several occasions, so when they asked me to capture some photos for their first anniversary I jumped at the chance. Their story is a testimony to Jesus bringing people together, and then back together all in His time and the love they share for each other shines through effortlessly.

Fountain Park holds a lot of memories for these too. Whether it’s walking through downtown during Christmas season, enjoying music at the fountain, or bringing visitors to their favorite spots, this was a sweet place to start our photos. What you’d never know is that during these moments, thunder and lightning were threatening to bring the storm of storms. Even in the chaos that surrounded, these two were still lost in their moments.

Sharing books with each other has been a huge part of their relationship, and that all started right here at Books on Main. Don’t mind us folks, just dashing through the streets for a good read.

Photographing genuine experiences does a lot of good for my heart and these few minutes right here were some of my most favorite yet. Dori and Hunter have a tradition of getting photos taken in the window of this French cafe. Dori orders a coffee and Hunter orders a tea. Everything about it was authentic and true to their story, and it was like I wasn’t even there. It was one of my favorite traditions I’ve gotten to capture.

Remember that storm I mentioned earlier? Well when it hit, it hit! The rain came pouring down, but Dori and Hunter didn’t let that phase them. We spent the last few minutes of this session dancing in the rain and laughing and celebrating. It was one of those magical Taylor Swift lyric moments and I’d relive it over and over again with these two. To Mr. and Mrs. Marek; one year looks real good on you!
