As of this past September, it has officially been four years since I moved to the Queen City. It’s definitely one of those things that feels fast and slow all at the same time. For a long time after moving, I wasn’t sure what my place was in the big city and how I was supposed to fit in. Moving to a new city when you first finish school sounds thrilling at first, but then you realize just how hard it is to find community, learn the layout, and know where to eat. But time is a funny thing, and one day you wake up and realize you know where to recommend for tacos and that’s when you know, you’re home.
While I’ll always consider myself as belonging to both the Carolinas, Charlotte has become a welcoming home and I’m so thankful for the growth and community I’ve gained since living here. To celebrate, I decided to take a trip around the city with a Contax645 and capture the city on film. It was so fun to get to freeze this city in time and to share these photos with others. I’m looking forward to continued adventures in Charlotte and seeing what else this city has in store for me.
