Mr. and Mrs. Lamison | Corley Mill House

A lot of people grow up looking forward to finding someone to spend their life with, but for a lucky few, they get to grow up with the person they’ll spend forever with. When I met Ryan and Kayla, I was immediately struck by the sincerity of their love and the way time had made them the best of friends. They spoke of their fall wedding with such anticipation and excitement for the future, as it was to be a celebration of the years they had already spent together, and the years to come.

Kayla’s details incorporated crisp whites and soft greens, allowing lots of room to include her burgundy focal point as an accent. I loved getting to play around with these fall colors and getting to highlight her rich color scheme.

Kayla and Ryan’s ceremony took place at the Corley Mill House in Lexington, South Carolina. This venue has the most charming getting ready spacings for the bride and groom, not to mention an abundance of greenery around the building. I got to hang out with Kayla before the ceremony and chat about the excitement of the day, and we had the most fun laughing with her bridesmaids and talking with her mom and Grandma Betty.

Before the ceremony, I spent time photographing the bride and groom with their bridal parties. This is always such a fun set of photos to capture because you can feel the love between the friends and family who are there to support the bride and groom. Ryan’s grandfather served as his best man, and it was the absolute sweetest to have someone that Ryan admired so much included with his groomsmen.

Kayla and Ryan’s ceremony will always stand out in my mind. It began with an emotional walk down the aisle with her dad and only got better from there. As another personal family touch, Ryan’s uncle performed the ceremony, and spoke of the years Kayla and Ryan had spent growing and learning together. Kayla and Ryan then exchanged handwritten vows, where they spoke about all they admired about the other person, and all the ways they vowed to love them. This was a ceremony that truly celebrated love, family, and the highs and lows that make a relationship strong.

During sunset, Kayla, Ryan, and I ventured around the Corley Mill House to capture their bride and groom portraits.

While we did photos, Ryan and Kayla caught up on their day and grinned a whole lot as they took in finally being married.

Ryan and Kayla’s reception was full of celebration. From Kayla’s sister’s emotional toast, to Grandma Betty being queen of the dance floor, the evening was full of family and personal touches that made it a celebration special to them. This crew danced the night away before sending the couple off with a sparkler exit. November 9, 2019 was truly the sweetest day for these longtime lovers. Mrs. and Mr. Lamison, I’m a real big fan of you!
