Mr. and Mrs. Nied | Sweet Magnolia Estate

One of my favorite parts about writing blog posts is getting to relive wedding days. For Mackenzie and Alex’s wedding, these photos bring back memories of calm vibes, a green and blue color story, and happy tears. Mackenzie’s details were simple and clean, with a little bit of sparkle added by her Kate Spade sneakers. Her bridesmaids and mom helped her get ready in the bridal suite at Sweet Magnolia Estate in Cornelius, North Carolina. Mackenzie’s dress was beautifully detailed with lace appliqués and straps with a little bit of shimmer. Mackenzie’s bridesmaids were full of giggles, but also emotional tears as they saw their dear friend about to get married.

After tucking the girls away, it was time to meet Alex and his groomsmen. This was a hysterical group of guys and they braved the May heat with so much grace. I loved Mackenzie and Alex’s mixture of blue and green tones throughout their bridal party attire and the way it created more depth in the photos. A quick summer thunderstorm rolled over the venue just before the ceremony, but cleared up just as it was time to send this bride and groom down the aisle. Alex and Mackenzie shared vows led by their dear friend and officiant Austin before walking back up the aisle hand in hand.

One of the important parts of their day was getting to spend lots of time with family and friends. Alex and Mackenzie’s reception had the perfect pacing that allowed them to never be rushed and to capitalize on their time with their guests. After first dances, dinner, and a photo-op with their App State crew, Alex’s brother and Mackenzie’s matron-of-honor gave touching speeches that left many in emotional tears. One of my favorite parts of these speeches was the matron-of-honor’s discussion of soulmates, and how she knew Mackenzie had found a soulmate in Alex because she had found a soulmate in Mackenzie years ago. I’m a big believer in best friend soulmates, so this really stuck with me and I remember it with so much fondness. The rest of the evening was full of dancing, desserts, and Mackenzie’s flawless Eminem karaoke. To Mackenzie and Alex, your day was full of calm and ease that only comes with strong bonds and deep friendships, and that was exactly what your wedding was all about. Thank you for letting me capture this chapter; I can’t wait to see what comes next!
