Mr. and Mrs. Gay | Alexander Homestead

Last June I had the opportunity to photograph an incredibly special event. In the summer of 2021, Carol and Bill celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Having originally celebrated with a small wedding at their church in 1971, Carol felt it was time to have a larger, modern party. On the eve of their 51st anniversary, Bill and Carol invited their family and friends from all walks of life to join them at Alexander Homestead for the ultimate celebration. While enjoying the garden views, guests were greeted by the couple and drinks before the ceremony. Before the couple walked down the aisle, they were proceeded by their daughter, her wife, and their granddaughter. At the alter, Carol and Bill renewed their vows, read excerpts from their favorite authors, and had their church group sing their original wedding song. After portraits in the garden with their family and all of their friend groups, their reception was held in the barn. Carol and Bill’s evening was full of love as their family gave special toasts, played games in the yard, and danced the night away. To Bill and Carol, your love is an inspiration to us all and this event was truly so special to witness. Here’s to many more years of love, travel, social activism, and laughter.
