Mr. and Mrs. Cardenas | ALoft Downtown Columbia Micro-Wedding

There’s so much I could say about Alicia and Josh.  These two have such an incredible story.  They met while both attending the University of South Carolina and would later go on to get engaged in the very classroom that they met in.  When planning their wedding, Josh and Alicia loved the idea of returning to USC once again for their ceremony. Sadly, two months prior to their wedding USC’s venue fell victim to structural damage.  Shortly after having to change venues, Alicia and Josh found themselves having to face the difficult decision of how to alter their wedding plans due to Coronavirus.  After a tough few days, the couple decided to postpone until July, hoping for improvement with the virus.  When May came and things hadn’t improved, they decided to have a micro-wedding with just immediate family on June 6th.  While their plans had changed once again, this day was filled with so much love, gratitude, and contentment.  Alicia and Josh celebrated with a small ceremony at the Blue Moon Ballroom in Columbia and then were treated to a surprise reception at the ALoft Downtown.  Their dinner was filled with stories of their love and heartfelt speeches from their loved ones.  This night had my heart feeling all kinds of full and encouraged at the resilience of Alicia and Josh’s love and how even the craziest of years couldn’t distract them from what was important.  I can’t wait to party with Mr. and Mrs. Cardenas even more next April as they keep the party going with part two of their wedding!  Cheers to celebrating this vivacious duo and for future celebrations to come!
