Jana first met Matt when his company reached out to connect over accounting consulting. During Matt’s partnership with Jana’s firm, Jana began to feel a connection between the two of them. After concluding their work relationship, Jana reached out via LinkedIn to see if Matt had been feeling a similar connection, and turns out, he had! The rest, as they say, was history! Fast forward to planning their wedding day, and these two New Jersey transplants fell in love with the gardens of Alexander Homestead. Knowing they would be bringing in all their family and friends from up north, they knew their wedding venue had to be welcoming, close to accommodations, and a beautiful space with southern charm.
When I think of Jana and Matt’s wedding last April, I think of the most picture perfect garden wedding. We started our day at a spacious townhouse where Jana and her bridesmaids got ready while I photographed Jana’s stunning details. I brought in extra flowers to compliment her stationary set as I really wanted to highlight spring and the garden feel of the wedding. Once we arrived at the venue, Jana’s mom helped slip her into her dress before Jana and I took some quiet time to photograph her bridal portraits. Before we knew it, it was time to hide her away and set up Matt for their first look. Matt’s smile was contagious when he saw Jana for the first time, and I couldn’t help but giggle as the couple posed for selfies before slipping away to privately exchange their vows to each other. I loved that Matt and Jana took this time to be away from cameras, their bridal party, and everything besides each other to have an intimate moment for their commitments. After all, that’s what the wedding day is all about.
The guests soon arrived and were greeted with sweet sips and lots of florals in bloom. Jana and Matt’s ceremony was full of laughs, stories, and smiles from their friends and family. During cocktail hour, guests enjoyed a garden party while Jana and Matt took photos with their family and bridal party. Before long, we headed into the reception to get the party started. Matt and Jana’s evening was highlighted by sweet first dances, touching speeches from family, and a vibrant dance floor. These two could often be found in the middle of their dance party or catching up with long-distance friends. This day was truly the perfect garden wedding and reunion of family. Congrats to Mr. and Mrs. Filepp!
Thank you to the vendors who made this day possible!
