When talking with Kate and Mark during their initial inquiry, they described their excitement for their wedding day and how it surrounded family, skyline views, and showing off their pup. Their dreams came to be reality on December 4th, 2021 at 220 North Tryon by Foundation for the Carolinas. This surprisingly warm winter day started at a hotel in Uptown where I got to capture Kate’s stunning green and gold details. We got to laugh with the bridal party as their hair and make up was done and travel with them to the venue on the bridal bus. Once we arrived at FFTC, we quickly set up Kate and Mark to have their first look. There were lots of hugs, giggles, and a few happy tears shed as the couple took in the sight of each other and the breathtaking view of Charlotte.
Mark and Kate’s bridal crew were right behind their first look and had no problems cheering on their favorite couple. We spent time on the terrace capturing laughs, family photos, and a few solo shots of the bride and groom. Guests were greeted at the door with champagne and treated to a nighttime view of the Charlotte skyline while waiting on the bride to make her grand entrance. Kate and Mark’s ceremony was highlighted by several family members participating in readings and well wishes for the couple that left many in the crowd in need of tissues. Mark and Kate walked back up the aisle with hands held high in celebration before making their way to cocktail hour with their guests.
220 North Tryon is noted for its views, but also for its art and living green wall. Guests took in the best the venue had to offer while sipping on cocktails before making their way into the main reception area. Designed and executed by Tina from A Simple Affair, this reception was an ode to all things emerald and gold. Mark, Kate, and their guests danced the night away with the help of The Herringbones Band, and you guys this party truly never stopped. While scrolling through this gallery in prep for this blog post, I couldn’t help but smile as I remembered what an incredibly fun wedding day this was, all ending in a sweet private last dance for the couple. To Mr. and Mrs. Fischer, thank you for letting me come along on your love story and for allowing me to tell it. Cheers to a lifetime of happiness!
This day would not have been so magnificent without the team of vendors who made it possible. Thank you to each and every one of you!
