Mr. and Mrs. Jaklin | Belfair

I could write a thirteen page long essay and still not have had enough space to talk about the incredible humans that are Whitney and Danny. Whitney and several of my good friends were in a sorority together at Clemson University, so we first met in passing several years ago. Flash forward to her engagement to the love of her life, Danny, and one of our mutuals said, “You have to reach out to Haylie for photos!”, and the rest was history. Whitney is an absolute unicorn and just standing next to her makes you feel good. When I first met Danny during their engagement photos at the end of 2020, I instantly knew they were meant to be. Danny is kind, caring, attentive, and has a warmth about him that you just knew was genuine. All this to say, Danny and Whitney’s wedding day was one I was highly anticipating.

Nestled in the breathtaking low-country of Bluffton, South Carolina, the Belfair Golf Community is a space that could leave anyone breathless. Waking up to gorgeous sunshine and crisp fall air, Whitney’s morning started off with hair and make up with her girls while I photographed details in their cabin. The energy was calm, excited, and full of love. Whitney shared a first look with her dad and some sweet getting ready moments with her mom before heading to the oaks to have her first look with Danny. You guys, these two adore each other. The love in their eyes during that private moment was absolutely everything. We spent the rest of the time before guests arrived capturing all their bridal crew and family before tucking everyone away for quiet time before the ceremony.

Danny and Whitney said I-Do under the oaks. Their dog, Gracie, wrapped up their procession and had everyone smiling and ready for Whitney’s big walk. Danny and Whitney exchanged handwritten vows that had many of their friends and family tearing up. They proceeded back up the aisle hand in hand and grinning like it was their job. We spent a few more minutes capturing portraits of them as husband and wife before heading back to the club house for their reception. Whitney’s design was elegant, autumnal, and rich. The colors felt warm and inviting and every piece of the space was thoughtfully done. From the flower arrangements, to the multiple desert tables, to the craft cocktails named after their favorite furry friends. Danny and Whitney’s night was full of dancing, special toasts, and a whole lot of good food. It was a party with no pause and a room full of celebration.

To the Jaklins, I can’t thank you enough for letting me be part of such an incredible engagement season and wedding day with you. I adore you both immensely and can’t wait to see all life has in store for you!
