I clicked with Allison and Mike right away. Anyone who has followed me for awhile knows that I’m a big fan of Marvel, and fortunately for me I’ve gotten to work with a lot of couples who are as well. Mike is a long time lover of superheroes and has loved getting to take Allison to Marvel movies and talk all the theories with her. Chatting all things Avengers while also chatting wedding planning has been the most fun throughout Allison and Mike’s engagement season and made me all the more excited for their wedding day.

Out in Mocksville, North Carolina, you’ll find Boxwood Estate. This venue captures gorgeous southern charm with the whimsical feeling of an English garden. This warm late summer day set the scene for Allison and Mike’s perfect wedding day. As Allison and her girls got ready, I took time to photograph their French blue details as well as Mike getting ready in the library with his brother. Allison did a dress reveal with her mom and bridesmaids before heading out to have her first look with Mike and their dog, Tucker. Mike’s face said it all as he saw Allison for the first time. These two are so in love but also truly the best of friends. We wandered around the venue taking bride and groom portraits before joining their bridal party. This crew was full of hype, laughs, and they were definitely bringing the party.

The ceremony took place under the archway where Allison and Mike exchanged handwritten vows. Their exchanges were full of jokes, fond memories, and promises to prioritize each other. I loved how it felt like their vows truly represented each of their personalities and how evident it was that they love making each other smile. The guests moved to cocktail hour while we continued with portraits before the couple’s grand entrance onto the checkerboard dance floor. Mike and Allison’s first dances with their parents were full of laughs and happy tears as they twirled around the floor. After dinner there were speeches, the cake cutting, photos with every table, and huge dance party. The star of the reception (other than the bride and groom of course) was the confetti drop that had all of the guests reenergized and ready to party on. The couple concluded their wedding day with a private last dance and a sparkler send off with all their friends and family. To Allison and Mike, you are both the life of the party and your love is an inspiration. Cheers to your next chapter and all the adventures to come!
