A summer wedding in the pavilion. When I photographed Carrie and Cam’s engagement photos back in December of 2020, I quickly learned they were Rock Hill celebrities. Every corner we turned on the main street, someone was calling their name and waving them down to say hello. You could feel the love the community had for them as Rock Hill natives, and the same stood true for their wedding day.
July in South Carolina is usually pretty hot, but add in an unprecedented heat wave and things really start to heat up. These two didn’t let the heat keep them from enjoying this summer day full of celebration, but instead let it fuel their need to party. Some of my favorite moments on Carrie and Cam’s wedding day were their first touch and prayer, Carrie’s matron of honor’s emotional toast, and Cam’s first dance with his mom. I think the Pike wedding was a great example of how even large weddings are made up of intimate moments, and how it’s the quick glances, the kind words, and the thoughtful gifts that make a wedding day so special. This crowd ended the night dancing the night away, singing at the top of their lungs, and having the best time of their lives. Cam and Carrie, thank you for being an excellent example of how to focus on the little moments and how to make a day that goes so quickly feel so intentional. Cheers to Mr. and Mrs. Pike!
