Mr and Mrs Sexton | Alexander Homestead

There’s so much I could say about this day, it’s really hard to know where to begin. I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know Jenn through working at Anthropologie, and over the past year have had the joy of getting to call her a friend. When she and Kevin got engaged last December, I crossed all my fingers that she would ask me to photograph her wedding, and lucky for me, she did!

While the pandemic caused Jenn and Kevin to reduce their numbers from their original headcount, this day was still full of emotion and intimacy. Having just had a tropical storm blow through Charlotte, this was a rare chilly September morning. The weather was crisp and perfect as I met Jenn at her house to capture her getting ready. Shortly after, I headed over to their venue, Alexander Homestead, to begin taking detail shots. With our love of Anthro, it’s no surprise that Jenn was decked out in BHLDN and inspired by all things blush and ethereal. After some solo portraits of the bride and groom, these two said I-Do in an intimate ceremony in front of their immediate family. Their officiant was a close friend of Kevin’s, so he was able to recall meeting Jenn for the first time, watch their relationship grow, and pronounce them husband and wife.

Having a very loose timeline, we got to take plenty of time for bride and groom portraits, taking advantage of Alexander Homestead’s incredibly stunning venue. For their reception, Jenn and Kevin cut their cake and toasted their new marriage with Cokes. Their family then sent them off to their stay at The Grand Bohemian with a petal exit and well wishes.

Jenn and Kevin are those people who make love look easy. Their love for each other shines through all of their actions and makes you want to find the same thing for yourself.
